In our chosen industry of fitness and health, we contend with various competitors who try to win clients the same way we do---same price, same promised results. And with more and more free resources courtesy of the advancing technology, we guarantee you, our jobs will only become more difficult---unless you know how to curve the wave to your favor. We compiled a list of proven tactics that brought us success in our business and today we are sharing them with you. Make sure you read until the end if you wish to stay on top of the market.
Show up as the Expert
Becoming an expert at what you do is one thing; becoming ‘the’ expert to your clients’ eyes is a totally different topic. You want to be seen as more capable than your competitors. This way, your client can easily see you as the right investment of their money. Remember, competition is everywhere. You want to make sure that you top the experts in your clients’ list.
Keep learning
We will say this over and over again: Keep educating yourself. Never tire of consuming new knowledge. There’s always something that you don’t know yet, and even a tiny bit of fresh information matters. It feels good to always be in the know, you know. You don’t want to be late to the bandwagon when the newest trend in fitness starts attracting fans.
Plus, you have a bigger chance at impressing a client with some “expert-only” tips. How is that for showing up as an expert huh!

Leverage social media
In our tenure, we cannot tell you how many huge companies we have seen fail only because they didn’t understand the power of social media. They didn’t believe that so much could come from having an online presence. We surely hope you don’t make the same mistake. In case we haven’t been very clear yet, social media is the future. Leverage every platform. Promote your business to your personal connections. Be as visible as possible on channels where your potential clients spend a huge chunk of their time, like Facebook or Instagram or YouTube. Free marketing at its finest, my friend.
Once you put one foot in the door, make sure to keep a presence that is respectable and reliable.
Provide free content
Sharing your knowledge without expecting anything in return, in our opinion, is the truest expression of expertise. This will effortlessly present you as an experienced and reliable source in a market full of vague promises. Master entrepreneur and multi-millionaire Gary Vaynerchuk emphasizes in his book, Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook, the importance of offering free services to potential clients before pitching in an offer. We strongly recommend that you establish your record first so you can hook clients way smoother after.
The more content you put out, the more eyes and ears you attract to your base; the more eyes and ears notice your content, the more familiar they will be about you and what you specialize in.
Walk the talk, talk the walk
Practice what you preach, trainer. Our business lives by this code. All the pointers in our programs are information that we too practice in our core. Every guidance and every tip that we share are the very same data that we follow. This code makes it easier for our team members to promote and represent our vision. More than that, keeping it real in your business will guarantee in your client’s mind that you know what you’re doing because you live it everyday. Trust us, clients can tell when you’re not being truthful.
Collaborate with influencers
This step is the definitely not the least, but it can be the last in your checklist. And though working with popular personalities is almost a sure ticket to skyrocketing your traffic, it should be done in a careful way. It will be best if you choose the ones that have a natural inclination to your niche. In our years of observing the marketing world, those that won’t need to read a script to promote your brand will be the most convincing influencers to get.
Don’t forget to do your research too. It won’t hurt to confirm that the person you choose to stand as your brand’s voice has no harmful past.
